Jane's Beef Stew

4 large potatoes, cubed
4 large carrots, sliced
2 medium onions, chopped
1 pounds beef stew meat
1/3 c. soy sauce
1/3 c. flour
8 oz. beef broth
8 oz. tomato sauce
1 t. pepper
1-2 t. salt

1. Put potatoes, carrots, beef and onions in a crock pot.  Mix the remaining ingredients and pour over.  
2. Cook for 6-8 hours on low.  Heating the liquid ingredients shortens time to approximately 4 hours.  Watch at end - each crock pot is different!  Don't over cook and dry it out.
3. Serve over buttermilk biscuits. (Click here for recipe.
